Junior MTB Race Series
Join the fun of MTB racing! The Cycle Path Junior MTB Series features 6 races at the best mountain bike parks in Victoria’s High Country. Open to juniors aged 4-17 and just $10 to race. Earn points for your club and end of season podium prizes
This year we are running seven races over six venues:
- RACE 1 | Saturday 21 October 2023 – XCO – Bright
- RACE 2 | Saturday 11 November 2023 – Timed Gravity – Mount Beauty
- RACE 3 | Saturday 9 December 2023 – XCO – Yackandandah
- RACE 4 | Saturday 10 February 2024 – XCO – Beechworth
- RACE 5 | Saturday 9 March 2024 – Gravity Enduro – Albury
- RACE 6 | Saturday 23 March 2024 – Gravity Enduro – Bright
All courses and duration of races are set to suit the developmental stages of junior riders, there will be two courses running at each event, a shorter, easier course for younger riders and a slightly longer course for older riders.
To participate all children MUST be Auscycling members. We recommend choosing an affiliate club when you register with either of these, your points will go towards your club’s overall performance in the series.
Please note, as each race is counted towards part of a series all children will be automatically assigned to an age group based on their age as of January 1, 2024.
Whilst some riders will be racing to beat their friends, others will be there for the opportunity to ride a different track with loads of other kids from around the region, everyone is welcome, no matter how fast or slow, as long as they come with a friendly attitude, pedal bike and a helmet!
Cost is $10 per race (unless indicated otherwise)
A BBQ and series presentation will take place at the final race of the series.
- A certificate and lollipops will be awarded to top 3 in each category at each individual race.
- Points are awarded on a sliding scale for all riders (best 4 races)
- Series results will not be published until the end of the series as the main goal of the series is participation
- Series prizes will be awarded to winners of each category with 3 or more competitors
- To be eligible for a series prize, competitors must have raced in at least 4 races

Junior Club Policies
Cancellation Policy
Mountain biking is an activity which takes place in the outdoors in unpredictable conditions; the safety and enjoyment of our junior riders is important and whilst we will endeavour to run junior program activities regardless of the weather they may be cancelled in cases of extreme weather.
Child Safe Policy
Alpine Cycling Club respects the right of all children who are members of the Alpine Cycling Club or who participate in Club activities to have the right to feel and be safe. We are committed to the safety and well-being of all children and young people accessing our Club.
