Twilight Series

The Concept

The Concept is simple, a short and sharp weekly event for people of all ages and ability to go out and ride their mountain bike. A mix of grades to match abilities and fitness and enjoy riding with your mates. A small presentation at the last ride of the series awarding place getters in each series.

The series will be held on a Thursday evening, with racing starting at 6pm and finished up by 7.30pm.

Series 1

  • Thursday, 21 November: Playground Loop – anti clockwise  CANCELLED
  • Thursday, 28 November: Bakers Gully Loop
  • Thursday, 5 December: Green Army/Gorilla Loop
  • Thursday, 12 December: Rotary Pines Loop – followed by Christmas Break Up

 

SERIES 1 RESULTS

Series 2

  • Thursday, 20 February: Rotary Pines Loop – RESULTS 
  • Thursday, 27 February: Bakers Gully Loop – clockwise – RESULTS 
  • Thursday, 5 March: Playground Loop Loop – RESULTS  
  • Thursday, 19 March: Loop TBA CANCELLED

 

SERIES 2 RESULTS

Entry Costs

  • Seniors: $10 (per round)
  • Juniors: Free

All entries will require a MTBA race licence (day licence will be available, but will cost $36 for adults and $22 for juniors)

Race Categories

A/B grade (30 minutes + Bell Lap)

C/D grade (25 minutes + Bell Lap)

Juniors to enter in appropriate grade for the night; no special course will grade will be provided

Race Schedule

  • 1730 – Set up course and registration desk
  • 1800 – C/D grade start
  • 1840 – A/B grade start

Series Points

Use MTBA guidelines for series points scoring system.

To be eligible for series prizes you must compete in at least 2 out of the 4 rounds.

ALPINE CYCLING CLUB MEMBERSHIP:

 

The Alpine Cycling Cluyb is planning on running/contributing significantly to 11 mountain bike events over the next 12 months (not to mention road too), the Inverted Enduro, 8x Twilight Series, Bright 3hr & the Alfred 6hr. There are other events that could also come onto the calendar, such as a Gravity Enduro (tbc). There is value in your membership if you’re interested in riding in these events – the plan is to make them fun, social and bring our members together for some friendly banter, story telling and good times!
